Built on a southwestern hillside, the resort hotel takes full advantage of the surrounding landscape and terrain. All rooms have balconies that overlook the Zsálya/Sage Valley. The hotel offers high level services with separate family and adult wellness areas, a restaurant, a bar, a conference hall, and sports and entertainment facilities.
The hotel is located on the outskirts of Pogány village, on the southwestern slope of the Zsálya Valley, on a 5-hectare plot merged with the area of a previously built small hotel and adventure park. For landscape protection reasons and to ensure the greatest possible tranquility and intensive connection to the environment, the building was not built on the highest point of the plot, but in its lower-middle part. Due to its location and architectural design, all hotel guest rooms face the beautiful view of the valley. A winding new access road leads to the main entrance, revealing the guest parking lot hidden in the depression in front of the hotel.
The 92-room resort hotel is a five-story building designed in accordance with local regulations. It has a curved-radial layout with a typical side corridor, and a flat, extensive green roof. The middle part of the building accommodates the public spaces, including the main entrance, the reception, the lobby with the bar, a wine shop and a terrace overlooking the valley. The family wellness area with its indoor and outdoor pools, water features, and indoor and outdoor relaxation areas is also located here. The largest mechanical space of the building has been built under the wellness area. The hotel rooms facing the valley, and their service rooms are located in the southeast part of the building. The northwest part has mixed functions, the conference hall is on arrival level, with the connecting group of restaurant rooms and the kitchen at the end of the wing. A separated area has been allocated on this floor for the noisy activities, like bowling and billiards, as well as the screening room. Most of the hotel’s public areas can be used flexibly for multiple functions. The two floors below arrival level have rows of guest rooms overlooking the valley, while the floor above arrival level is home to the building’s quiet zone and the adult spa. In spite of the elongated layout, there are only two vertical cores for circulation in the hotel, as the fall of the terrain has been utilized so that direct access to the garden has been provided at the ends of the building. There are three types of rooms (of 26, 30 and 40 m2 area) with different designs, a bathroom and a separate toilet, and each has a balcony overlooking the valley.
The hotel has been built on deep bored reinforced concrete pile foundations, with an in-situ reinforced concrete structure adjusted to the curved-radial floor plan system. The external windows and doors are double-layer, thermally insulated curtain walls, with a thermal bridge-free aluminum frame structure, gas-filled glazing and vertical and horizontal divisions. The solid facades have a thin dryvit plaster finish in a warm brown color, applied with a blotted technique. The external railings and parapets are made of dark brown steel bar panels. In addition to the existing landscape features (stream, lake, forest), the surrounding hillside has been planted with fruit trees and grapevine. In the immediate vicinity of the building, areas for rest, sports, play, and decorative gardens have been created.
