An office and a workshop building, built of prefabricated concrete panels in the 1970s, have been reconstucted and connected with a bridge to create a unified office complex of up-to-date look and operation, in the steep Buda hillside.
The two original buildings of the plot, a former IKV office and a workshop, had been built of prefabricated concrete panels in the 1970s, wedged in between the rows of villas on Németvölgyi and Bürök Streets and the Farkasréti Cemetery. The new German owner wanted the two buildings reconstructed as a modern office complex with the necessary parking for Digital Hungary, the second largest computer manufacturing company at that time. In spite of the considerable six metre difference between the floor levels, the new complex had to operate as one unit, with a common main entrance for the two buildings.
The main entrance of the complex is located in the Németvölgyi Road building, in order to have a more impressive access and better parking conditions. The two buildings are connected with a new staircase block and a bridge. The entrance on Bürök Street leads to the service courtyard. A two-storey car park has been built under the former courtyard between the buildings, with access from Németvölgyi Road. The two parking floors are accessible through separate ramps, the retaining wall of the former courtyard has become the facade of the car park. Reconstruction included the removal of the parapet panels of the facades on both buildings. The new facades have stone cladding laid in two different patterns and windows of uniform size in a new arrangement. The original flat roofs have been changed to uniform metal sheet pitch roofs, so another storey could be added to the buildings. Both wings accommodate mainly large, open space offices with the necessary service areas.
