Tima Zoltán, design director, shared his thoughts on the trends and challenges of contemporary Hungarian architecture in an international interview with USA Today. He emphasized the importance of preserving historical values, while highlighting the role of modern technological solutions and sustainability in today’s architectural practice.
He mentioned the design of the Puskás Arena as an example, where the aim of the architectural concept was to ensure that the functionality of the modern stadium remained in line with the heritage and spirit of the original building. During the reconstruction of Kossuth Square, the primary consideration in the design was also to respect the exceptional historical and symbolic significance of the Parliament building. The goal was not to reinterpret, but to preserve and highlight the existing values.
According to Tima Zoltán, Hungarian architecture is competitive on an international level, as it has been proved by several professionally recognized projects. In his opinion, the basis of success is teamwork, experience and continuous professional development.
