The representative book, illustrated with many excellent photos and drawings, presents György Skardelli’s career as an architect, spanning several decades. In addition to the iconic buildings well-known to the residents of Budapest – such as the Budapest Arena, the MVM Dome, the Puskás Arena – we also get to know a children’s village built in a historic small town, the multifunctional hall of a former county seat, a high school building complex, the reception building of a thousand-year-old abbey, the research center of a global company and the sports arena of a university campus. Stories, drawings, photos – stages of a colorful career. Skardelli’s unusual autobiography brings to life his rich professional journey, revealing the often rather difficult and complex process that leads from the first sketches to the realization of a building. Yet, some of the excellent building designs and original ideas may remain forever in the drawer. It is Skardelli’s intention that the book will also serve as a lesson in this respect for talented young people preparing for a career as an architect.
The book, published by MMA Kiadó, was designed by Teodóra Hübner.
