Built at a prominent point in the new urban development of Budapart, the 223-apartment BRN building becomes a defining element of the area with its striking, contemporary design and uniform use of dark-toned materials. Above the common, high single floor “plateau”, there are two higher blocks of different design, which open towards the southern park and the Danube. The southeast corner is the most valuable part of the site, which is also the southernmost point of the entire Budapart. The formation of the building mass allows for a wider open strip towards the neighboring plots, and there are no exclusively north facing apartments. The ground floor includes parking and service functions, and above it, intensive and extensive green roofs divide the plateau; this provides a favorable microclimate and a pleasant view from above. The clear and rational floor plan of the general residential floors ensures the efficient operation of the building. The facade is defined by the fine rhythm of prefabricated concrete panels, large windows, and balconies of simple design, creating an elegant contrast with their light coloured details on the dark-toned facade. The characteristic, yet harmonious appearance of the building is due to its consciously designed form and its connection to the urban fabric of the Budapart development.
