On 15 March 2020, National Holiday of the Hungarian Republic, the Kossuth Prize, highest professional honor by the state, was awarded to György Skardelli, one of our senior designers. On account of the Covid-19 disease, the presentation of the prize has been postponed.
„To be acknowledged by fellow architects is an enormous honour. But my greatest satisfaction is the tribute from the public. We design our buildings for their users (by them, with them, for them), meeting the complex challenges of present and future and utilizing the values and traditions of the past, so they can purposely pass them on for the future generations. „ remarked György Skardelli.
György Skardelli recipient of the Ybl Miklós Prize, the Prima Primissima Award for Architects, Artist of Merit, Member of the Hungarian Academy of Arts, has been awarded the Kossuth Prize as the acknowledgement of his exceptional life work as an architect designer, who has always perfectly integrated functionality, sustainability and aesthetics; coordinated traditional and contemporary architectural values and considered the unity and characteristics of the urban environment.
