ABOUT ARCHITECTURE FOR EVERYONE – TIMA ZOLTÁN WAS THE GUEST OF THE MÉK PODCAST

The interview revealed that Tima Zoltán had wanted to be an architect since childhood, although there were no architects in his background. He graduated from high school in his hometown of Pécs, and after a year of military service, he was admitted to the Faculty of Architecture at the Hungarian University of Technology.

Not only good priests, but architects also learn throughout their lives. Tima Zoltán was lucky from the beginning, because he was able to learn from masters who were at the forefront of Hungarian architecture. Farkasdy Zoltán left a deep mark on him at the university, and when he joined KÖZTI, he got into a multigenerational master-student relationship. Few of his contemporaries had such an opportunity. The one he learned the most from and who invited him to KÖZTI was Széchenyi Prize-winning architect Marosi Miklós. Their association has been of decisive importance, Zoltán has learned the tricks of the trade from him, and in addition, Miklós helped him find his way in the professional world.

The podcast also reveals, among other things, that our design director’s buildings are characterized by rationality and usability. He believes that a neat floor plan and clear logic together result in comprehensible and humane spaces, shaped by attention to function and the needs of the users. Tima Zoltán prefers clear, self-evident things in architecture and in life alike.
