István studied at the Technical University of Budapest, Faculty of Architecture and graduated in 1987. He got a specialist diploma in historic monument preservation in 2000. He is a qualified technical project manager for monument preservation.
He joined KÖZTI in 1987 and worked at Miklós Marosi’s studio. He got his senior architect appointment in 1991. Besides his work at KÖZTI, he was the chief architect of Balatonalmádi between 2003- 2009. He has been project lead architect since 2021.
István has worked on many important projects as an associate of Miklós Marosi, including the new building of the Uzsoki Street Hospital, the reconstruction of the Corinthia Grand Hotel Royal, the Global Service Centre of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, several new buildings at the Kecskemét Hospital and the Eiffel Art Studios, new art complex of the Opera House.
István has been a member of many design committees and he is a consultant in several colleges. He is the recipient of numerous professional awards.
